My journey in the industry has been one which connected my path with many wonderful people who helped to shape my experiences and accomplishments as an entertainer and a human being. In my next, soon to be released book, I hope to detail some of the many encounters and the stories around them. When I first started to record songs, I was signed to the Galaxy label, and Cliff Goldsmith was the first producer I worked with on “The World Can’t Do Me No Harm,” and “The Working Girl.” “The Working Girl” title came from country singer and DJ, Black Jack Wayne. Johnny Guitar Watson played guitar on both songs and next Cliff produced “Give the Kids A Break,” and “The Biggest Fool,” which Ray Shanklin arranged. Ray started producing me and arranged the hit single “She’s Looking Good,” and became my arranger and producer for a string of singles which were released.
